When the Stars Fall is a gold mine. Star-crossed lovers, murder, mayhem, amateur sleuthing, home renovations, and more! This was all my favorite channels combined with a fun little highlight of HGTV, a dash of Lifetime, and an explosion of TNT drama.
Although When the Stars Fall is the second of The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series, it doesn't skip a beat. It gave enough context that you didn't have to read the first in order to enjoy the second. I will say, the glimpses into the previous book, Chicken Scratch, will make you want to go back to find out more details on what all must have transpired.
This story had history and drama. It had a solid foundation and options. It kept you guessing and was the perfect balance of light-heartedness and edge of your seat drama. It's hard to keep from bragging of the brilliance of this plot, but I don't want to give anything away! The depth and angles were by far my favorite part. I got tangled in the many pieces so much so that I was blindsided by the ending, which is the biggest compliment to any story. The only instance where I will ever be asked to please blindside me, so well done Becki Willis, this was fantastic and an extremely enjoyable read.
Becki Willis, best known for her popular The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series and Forgotten Boxes, always dreamed of being an author. In November of '13, that dream became a reality.
Since that time, she has published numerous books, won first place honors for Best Mystery Series, Best Suspense Fiction, Best Women’s Detective Fiction, and Best Audio Book, won the 2018 RONE Award for Paranormal Fiction, and has introduced her imaginary friends to readers around the world.
An avid history buff, Becki likes to poke around in old places and learn about the past. Other addictions include reading, writing, junking, unraveling a good mystery, and coffee. She loves to travel but believes coming home to her family and her Texas ranch is the best part of any trip. Becki is a member of the Association of Texas Authors, Writer’s League of Texas, Sisters in Crime, the National Association of Professional Women, and the Brazos Writers organization. She attended Texas A&M University and majored in Journalism.
