Vortex is the perfect storm. Kimberly developed an outstanding cast of characters that when brought together formed an entertaining, unpredictable whirlwind of a tale. The character chemistry and development was brilliant.

The entire structure of this story was beautifully assembled from the individual introductions of each character flowing into the next, which laid a great foundation when they did all finally cross paths, to the background characters complementing the story line so flawlessly by creating crossroads and having situations arise that might have otherwise felt forced or choppy.

I loved so many different things about Vortex! From the strong female character taking charge throughout these pages to her sidekick that stole my heart (and I mean Nimbus, not Heath even though he was as sweet as can be as well). Elaina was impeccably portrayed and Nimbus will be ingrained in my heart for many years to come, envisioning that freaking adorable helmet he had to wear during the chase and the love and anxiety he had for his owner's safety held me captive.

The drama throughout Vortex created a tension that made this a page-turner and the short chapters and easy dialogue created a lightness that provided momentum in my need to finish and find out how things ended. I'd recommend this to any and all. I enjoyed reading a story based near my hometown, about a subject I took pleasure learning about, and based on a strong-willed female protagonist.
