I'll be there. Through thick and thin. Ride or die. You can count on me. The promises people make. The vows we take. Assumptions of the heart. Emotion tells us how we feel, but life...life has a way of plunging us in boiling water, burning away our illusions, testing our faith, trying our convictions. Love floating is a butterfly, but love tested is an anchor. For Grip and Bristol love started at the top of the world on a Ferris wheel under the stars but when that love is tested, will they fly or fall?

This is not as action-packed as the other books in the series but it dives into extremely relevant issues. It held some turmoil and hot topics and you got to know these characters even more through how they handled the situations. I felt like each chapter after about midway through the book read like separate epilogues. It would skip to the next life event in each chapter rather it be a week down the road, a few months, or from the wedding to the one year anniversary.
If you did fall in love with Grip and Bristol during this series I would highly recommend reading this last book. Your heart just thumps with contentment getting to see the relationship turn into a commitment and their own happily ever after. The depth of their relationship is charming and real. It's adorable and everyone by the end of this wants a relationship like Grip and Bristol. I don't know if I'd recommend this book as a standalone though. If you don't have that initial bond and are as involved in their relationship as they are you won't appreciate the simplicity of this book.
I will say after the last two books in this series I was disappointed. I was scared before starting this book because I couldn't imagine after reading Grip how anything after would measure up. This one was not overflowing with action and twists, but held pure love and the calm after the storm. I feel like I highlighted half the book because the beautiful words and feelings exchanged were so poetically captured. The quote that became a graphic below and was included with the blog tour package scared me because it seems extremely aggressive out of context almost like he was abusive, so I'll share some of my personal favorites.
"His words settle over my heart, refreshing like rain falling on dry, thirsty ground."
"It's so damn easy with Bristol - our banter, the chemistry, the perfect rhythm of our conversation."
"Emotion tells you about love, but hard times prove it."
"When things are out of control he's always my peace, always my sign of relief. He's the reminder that come what may, there's us, and we aren't going anywhere-ever."
"...my life is an open book-and not the fairy tale kind, more like a Stephen King novel."
"You limit your knowledge and understanding of not only your place in this world, but the place and plight of others by doing what you've always done and knowing only what you've always known. Position yourself socially and intellectually to know more, to understand beyond the scope of your experiences. That is how we evolve as individuals and as a society."
"It's a very vulnerable feeling-that you don't even know what you don't know."
"When I thought of my husband, I didn't dream in color, I dreamt in character."
