There might not have been a Happily Ever After, but there was an OH S#!T moment at the end. This was such a great read! It fueled my adrenaline to immediately NEED to start the next in the series. It reminded me a bit of the Big Brother atmosphere where these strangers are trapped 24/7 together with not much else to do, but get to know each other, so it's a bit of an accelerated process with the relationships that form. Grip and Bristol might have had significant lust at first sight, but I respect and appreciate how their bond formed. There was no giggling and butterflies, but long talks about deeper issues that made an instant connection that would last. There was a comfort with each other that had them feeling like they had known each other for much longer than just her Spring Break getaway. The background issues were extremely intriguing and just a hint of what you will get in the next book in the series. I will say I am bulldozing Grip , the second in the series. It is mesmerizing. This series holds an outstanding plot as I'm almost done with the second book and it reminds me of the TV series Empire. If I didn't need sleep I would have gotten through both last night, but ending up passing out around 2 AM, knowing I needed to wake up in three hours for work. There is a great balance of family, love, lust, and music with bonds both forming and breaking. I highlighted so many quotes and punchlines then read them aloud to my husband not caring if he listened or not, but just to get my excitement out about how clever certain aspects in this story were. Such an easy, fun read with outstanding development of the characters. It might not have had a Happily Ever After, but you will not be left hanging in the sense that the story was cut short. I'm glad it ended the way it did. The author didn't care about the public opinion to have a pretty, clean finish and to have every aspect completely wrapped up.
